Chief Executive Officer
Karen Matingou joined Atéssa Benefits, Inc. as President in 2008 after two years of service on Atéssa’s Advisory Board. Now President and Chief Executive Officer, Karen works closely with Atéssa’s leadership team to set strategy and foster a culture of innovation and client service. Her mission is to ensure that Atéssa’s portfolio of services is comprehensive and business processes are streamlined, offering clients the benefit of a partnership that meets the ever-increasing challenge of providing quality, cost-efficient employee benefit programs.
Karen brings over 19 years of experience in the areas of pension consulting, business management, and best practice methods. Karen is one the few people in the country with knowledge in both prudent investment processes and assessment principles, qualifications that are becoming increasingly desired and demanded by both the industry and regulators. In her capacity as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst, Karen strives to lessen the financial exposure of our plan sponsor clients acting in a fiduciary capacity. She accomplishes this through an ISO-like procedure of assessment, helping plan sponsors to understand how well their organization is managing investment fiduciary practices relative to a Global Fiduciary Standard of Excellence, identify ways to improve the decision-making process of their organization, and uncover deficiencies and develop solutions to remedy them.
